چکیده

Poly(lactic acid)(PLA) is an aliphatic polyester that can be derived from natural and renewable resources. Owing to favorable features, such as biocompatibility, biodegradability, good thermal mechanical performance, processability, PLA has been considered one of the most promising biopolymers for biomedical applications. Particularly, electrospun nanofibers with distinguishing characteristics, similarity extracellular matrix, large specific surface area high porosity small pore size tunable properties diverse applications, have recently given rise advanced spillovers in medical area. A variety PLA-based nanofibrous structures explored purposes, wound dressing, drug delivery systems, tissue engineering scaffolds. This review highlights recent advances electrospinning It also gives a comprehensive discussion about approaches suggested optimizing towards design devices appropriate physical, biological functions.

Bacteria immobilized electrospun polycaprolactone and polylactic acid fibrous webs for remediation of textile dyes in water.

In this study, preparation and application of novel biocomposite materials for textile dye removal which are produced by immobilization of specific bacteria onto electrospun nanofibrous webs are presented. A textile dye remediating bacterial isolate, Clavibacter michiganensis, was selected for bacterial immobilization, a commercial reactive textile dye, Setazol Blue BRF-X, was selected as the t...

Development of Electrospun Lignin-based Fibrous Materials for Filtration Applications

Lignin is a valuable biomaterial. It is both naturally abundant and readily available as a byproduct of the pulping processes, and the proper reprocessing of lignin is an effective way to achieve waste recovery. Lignin fiber mats with web structures can be produced using electrospinning techniques. Such fiber mats are a promising material for use in the production of filter products. This study...

Electrospun polylactic acid nanofiber membranes as substrates for biosensor assemblies

Biotin has been successfully incorporated into polylactic acid (PLA) nanofibers through electrospinning to prepare membrane substrates for biosensors based on biotin–streptavidin specific binding. Biotin incorporated PLA nanofiber membranes were characterized with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), and confocal microscopy. Under optimized conditions, small ...

Biomedical applications of ferulic acid encapsulated electrospun nanofibers

Ferulic acid is a ubiquitous phytochemical that holds enormous therapeutic potential but has not gained much consideration in biomedical sector due to its less bioavailability, poor aqueous solubility and physiochemical instability. In present investigation, the shortcomings associated with agro-waste derived ferulic acid were addressed by encapsulating it in electrospun nanofibrous matrix of p...
